The exhibition was established way back in 1874 by Edward Booth, a dedicated collector and naturalist – and his goal was uncomplicated – to have a stuffed example of each British bird in Britain at that point in time! His love and allegiance are very evident and it is this that supplies the museum its elegance – there’s a very special and distinctive ambiance to the exhibits.
